The timing of the century? The 2022/2023 season offered a lot of skiing for https://propertiesbaymx.com/property_location/real-estate-tulum/ me and nothing so far can compare to the week we had in Engelberg. You can't do better timing in terms of snow dump and weather. It happens a few times in life. Just in week 7 2013 this happened to us again and again and again.
When we step into the Guide agency on Saturday afternoon, we immediately learn that Sunday will be the best ski day of the year and, if possible, the best ski day in 5 years! It has been snowing constantly for three weeks and not a clear day. Sunday is the first clear day and there is a powder depth of 1 meter. We look at ea other and say:
- Can we manage this first day of skiing on the trip without warming up?
Of course the answer is, we don't want to miss this year's powder day!
08:00 Sunday morning we stand outside the guide agency, shivering, it's minus 20 in the village and we see enthusiasts everywhere who are full of anticipation and adrenaline for today's ride. We are a group of 7 peoe from a mixed crowd aged 25 to 65. When we line up for the lift there is real excitement in the air, we are boiling with eagerness to get up the mountain and it is like an electric shock goes through the crowd. Finally! The lift opens and we are on our way
We have a brief in the lift on the way up and understand that we will start with an off-piste ride called Laub. We climb towards Titlis and climb over a mountain peak and then throw ourselves out. Oh my God! I have powder up to my est and almost can't get there, cometely crazy, have to have even higher speed and that leads to a somersault, but up again and then it's full of snow, now no one is stopping and the snow is swirling so you can hardly looks. Everyone screams from the joy and adrenaline rush. Despite 6 months of frequent visits to the gym and also running training, it is not without me starting to feel the lactic acid towards the end of the ride.
Quickly back to the lift and now we will get to Galtiberg, the backside of Titlis, a ride of 2,000 vertical meters and a total of 15 km long in deep powder. This ride is even better, it is more untoued and feels wilder, here you have to find the way down and ride the right way to avoid ending up in an extremely avalane-dangerous and narrow ravine that can become the only way down if you go wrong. powder, powder, powder everywhere as far as the eye can see.
